Accurate monitoring of flexible packaging to detect gas leaks.
The correct atmosphere when packing is of great importance in maintaining
quality. That defective, leaking packaging should leave the factory is
undesirable for the following reasons:
- the safety of the product cannot be guaranteed
- the average product life is reduced
- products can arrive at the supermarket in an unfit state and this is taken
into account
Manual monitoring is incomplete and costs labour. The FTNON Fast Line
Inspections® seal tester was developed to solve this problem. The system has
been fully tested in working conditions and is now available.
Continuous system
Under this continuous system the packs come in contact with three small conveyor
belts. Leakages are detected by means of the “measure-pressure-measure-compare
“principle. The system which is patented in the USA and Europe is fully servo
controlled via a simple touch-screen. Product changeover takes place with a
single touch on the screen, so no mechanical adjustments are necessary.
Some advantages this system offers:
- even small leaks are detected
- labour is saved
- the product can be re-used
In addition, pre-perforated packaging can also be monitored with this system.
The system can be supplied in 2 executions:
- the MAP1 for detecting holes from ± 3.0 mm, and
- the MAP3 for detecting holes from 0.5 mm.
Complete automation including case-pack system
In respect of a complete automation of the part from the packing machine up to
and including the transport of products in cases or trays, FTNON is able to
supply a case-pack system. This installation can be well combined with a seal
tester.
FTNON is able to integrate the case-pack system and the seal tester into both
new and existing lines.
